Pupils from a Bournemouth primary school are celebrating their success after participating in a nationwide spelling challenge.
Children at Talbot Heath School in Bournemouth received prizes after taking part in the annual DoodleLearning Back To School Spelling Challenge, by practising spelling on DoodleLearning’s award-winning app for just a few minutes each day. Part of the Discovery Education family of services, the DoodleSpell app uses the latest edtech innovations to boost children’s confidence and reward learning.
The pupils from class 5D at Talbot Heath Junior School were rewarded with a box of spelling games, presented by their teachers in school last week.
Sophie Maddison, Junior School English Co-ordinator said:
“We are very proud to announce that 5D are the winners of this year’s nationwide DoodleLearning Back to School Competition. The class achieved the highest percentage of children in the green zone for Doodle Spell for 14 consecutive days. Doodle is very popular amongst our pupils and they relish the challenge when competitions are introduced. Their prize was a £75 box of spelling related games which they have loved playing with during form times and lunch time! Super effort 5D, all of the staff are very proud of you!”
Michael Savitz, Discovery Education’s UK and International Managing Director said:
