The international law firm Broadfield has strengthened its Planning, Infrastructure and Public Law team with the appointment of Partner Michael Dempsey in London.
Michael joined the firm on 7 July from Addleshaw Goddard, where he specialised in planning, infrastructure and environmental law.
With more than 20 years’ top-flight experience in acting for developers and public sector bodies, Michael brings to the firm specialist expertise in planning, highways and compulsory purchase law. He has worked extensively across nationally strategic infrastructure projects in the energy, transport and water sectors.
Commenting on his appointment, Michael said: “Broadfield has an enviable reputation in the property, infrastructure and planning world with first-class clients across the UK. I am looking forward to working with the team and contributing to its future growth and development.”
Mark Challis, Partner and Head of Planning, Infrastructure and Public Law, said: “Michael has a terrific track record in all aspects of conventional and infrastructure planning, including the strategic and technical aspects of environmental impact assessments, habitat regulations issues and biodiversity net gain. He will be a tremendous asset to the firm and its clients. We look forward to working alongside him.”
Broadfield has this year strengthened its Planning and Infrastructure team with the appointment of Senior Associate Claire Wills and Associates Kate O’Mara and Lewis Radford. Nina Kapoor and Jonah Langley also qualified into this team this year.
