Brand-new well-being and music festival coming to Cornwall with Californian yoga teacher, Shiva Rea

Quick Panda Productions, the Cornish production company behind The Great Estate Festival, Little Orchard, and the Cathedral Masquerade, will bring a brand-new well-being and music festival to Cornwall in 2024 with world-renowned yoga teacher, Shiva Rea.

Paradhis Festival, pronounced ‘para-dees’ and named after the Cornish word for ‘paradise’, will take place at the historic Boconnoc Estate in South East Cornwall from Friday 5th until Sunday 7th July 2024. The festival is a unique blend of mindfulness, meditation, yoga, and other well-being activities, complemented by an eclectic mix of music to create an experience never before seen in Cornwall.

With Paradhis set to be Cornwall’s biggest well-being festival, there will be a jam-packed schedule of activities for visitors of any age, background or belief to enjoy across the weekend. Headlining the well-being aspect of the festival will be world-renowned wellness advocate and Californian yoga teacher, Shiva Rea.

Shiva Rea is one of the most highly regarded yoga teachers in America and will bring her energy and learnings to the Transformation Station at Paradhis Festival as she teaches the art of living yoga. Guests can expect to experience Shiva Rea’s personally developed style of yoga, Prana Vinyasa which integrates the roots of Vinyasa, yoga, Ayurveda, and Tantra into a creative, transformative blend of movement.

Other well-being activities at Paradhis Festival include:

• Sound Bath experiences in Boconnoc Church
• Wellbeing workshops and talks by a range of top wellness gurus
• Wim Hoff workshops
• Storytelling
• Forest bathing
• Deer safaris in Boconnoc’s deer park
• Craft workshops
• Yoga workshops, including an inversion workshop from the team at Shiva Yoga Studio in Newquay and hip hop yoga practice with Nay’s Yoga
• Wild swimming
• Plus much more

All set across a wide variety of venues at Boconnoc Estate, including the New Horizon’s Main Stage, Transformation Station, Boconnoc Church, Cacao Temple & Rainbow Bridge, Tribal Village, Slow Souk & Emporium of Happy, and more.

The well-being activities will be complemented by world-class music including English electronic heavyweights Morcheeba and a range of other internationally renowned artists and emerging talent, including artists and DJs such as Scott Matthews, Hang Massive, Facesoul, and Indian Man.

Festival organisers Ian Whittaker and Ben Hall commented: “We always felt that Cornwall has been missing an event that combines well-being and music as there is such a diverse range of incredible facilitators, well-being practitioners, nature enthusiasts and an amazing community in Cornwall that deserves its own gathering to celebrate and share this wealth of diversity. Boconnoc Estate is quite simply the perfect venue to launch this event at.

“We are thrilled to have Shiva Rea involved in the festival as she is a legend in the well-being industry and she has so much to offer. We’re expecting her classes at the festival to be very popular!”

Boconnoc is an historic country estate set far away from the crowds in South East Cornwall containing a stately home, vast woodland and parkland, an 800-year-old church, a deer park, farmland, a number of holiday cottages, a lake and more. With the manor of Boconnoc listed in the Domesday Book, the estate is full of centuries of history and fascinating stories. The sprawling Boconnoc countryside is an ideal location for visitors to immerse themselves in peace, healing and tranquillity.

Clare Fortescue of Boconnoc Estate said: “We’re thrilled that Quick Panda is launching Paradhis Festival at Boconnoc. Spending time at Boconnoc Estate allows guests and visitors to truly retreat in nature, and hit pause on daily life, so we couldn’t think of a better venue for a festival like Paradhis that combines wellness and music.

“We are looking forward to sharing Boconnoc Estate with the public for Paradhis Festival and working with Quick Panda who has a proven track record of creating successful festivals.”
Boconnoc is no stranger to hosting events, regularly hosting retreats for activities including yoga and art, plus being one of the locations of Paul Ainsworth’s Travelling Feast in 2021 featuring The Human League, Gabrielle, and Toploader, and hosting its own Boconnoc Steam Fair each year, however this is the first time it will be home to a weekend-long festival of this kind.

Tickets are now on sale with a limited number of super early bird weekend tickets starting from £95.
