Deposit Boost For Home Buyers in Glastonbury

A DEPOSIT boost could increase buyers’ borrowing power and help them secure a new home in Glastonbury.

Elan Homes is offering to contribute up to £10,000 towards customers’ deposits on selected new homes at its popular Avalon development in Glastonbury, where the final countdown is on.

Regional sales director Tracey Ball explained: “We understand that the pressures of the cost of living can make it difficult to save for a deposit. With that in mind we’ve introduced a deposit boost scheme. It’s designed to help potential purchasers’ money go further. With the aid of deposit boost they may be able to access better mortgage rates, usually reserved for those with more substantial savings, and enjoy lower monthly mortgage repayments.

“Plus, because our homes are energy efficient, they can be purchased using green mortgages. These are available from selected lenders and in some cases have better interest rates than traditional mortgage products. Buyers can use the mortgage checker on our website to help work out how much they could borrow and how much their repayments would be without affecting their credit score.”

The four-bedroom detached double-fronted Broughton is available with deposit boost.

It offers 1,502 sq ft of living space and is priced from £465,000.

The lounge is at the front of the Broughton, with double doors leading through to the dining room. In turn the dining room leads to the combined family room and kitchen, which can also be accessed via the hall. Both the family room and dining room offer direct access to the garden via French doors.

There’s also a utility, study and cloakroom.

Upstairs, all four bedrooms are doubles, two with en-suites to complement the family bathroom.

There’s also the chance to own a three-bedroom detached Russett Special. It’s available to purchase from £380,000.

The Russett Special features a dual aspect, open plan kitchen, dining and family room, which spans from the front to the rear of the property. This sociable space is complemented by a separate lounge, which offers direct access to the rear garden via French doors.

There’s also a room that could be a formal dining room, a study, playroom for the children, a guest bedroom, gym or a combination of these.

A cloakroom, with shower, completes the ground floor.

Upstairs, there are two bedrooms, one with en-suite, plus a family bathroom.

“The Russett Special is effectively a three-bedroom, three-bathroom property,” Tracey added. “It’s perfect for busy families as it eases the pressure on the main bathroom.”

Located on Old Wells Road, the new homes at Avalon are taking shape less than 10 miles from Worthy Farm, home of Glastonbury Festival.

Glastonbury Tor offers a chance to explore the outdoors, including a butterfly trail, there’s also the historic abbey, plus all the amenities people want from a neighbourhood including restaurants and gastro pubs, high street stores, quirky independents and a regular market.

The final homes at Avalon are being sold via Killens. For more information call 01749 671172 or see https://www.elan-homes.co.uk/developments/avalon.
