Meet the Minds Behind the Future of Mobility

Supersmith, the pioneering team behind the 3Scooter, is coming to Cabot Circus, Bristol, from March 22nd to 23rd March. The special event invites visitors to witness the 3Scooter in action for the very first time, as well as meeting the founders, Tom, Emily, and Fred, to learn about their extraordinary mission to create a safer, more inclusive mobility landscape.

“In Supersmith’s early days, we explored many ideas, refining the best ones through development. Ideas are a bit like photographs; sometimes you need thousands of good ones to get a handful of excellent ones. The initial stages of development became that editing process, of taking the best concepts generated by the team, refining and validating them. I hadn’t ridden a traditional mobility scooter for long until acting as a ‘stuntman’ in a demo video. Despite experience with motorbikes and road bikes, I felt surprisingly vulnerable at just 4 mph. That’s when I saw the need for better safety and user experience. With Supersmith’s active stabilisation system, those anxieties vanish—riding becomes relaxed and enjoyable” – Fred Russell-Pavier, CTO and Co-Founder

Inspired by personal experiences, the founders of Supersmith have spent years developing an alternative to traditional mobility scooters. Their groundbreaking innovation, the 3Scooter, is designed to address the key issues of instability, stigma, and practicality that millions of people face daily. With its cutting-edge stabilisation technology and sleek, modern design, the 3Scooter represents a shift towards empowering mobility solutions that enable users to remain active, engaged, and independent.

At Cabot Circus in March, attendees will have the chance to hear firsthand from the founders about their journey – from early prototypes to the advanced patented technology that currently lives in their Bristol Robotic Lab at UWE’s Future Leap. There will also be the opportunity to place a deposit for the limited release of the 3Scooter. A limited and exclusive opportunity for customers within 2hr of Bristol only.

The event will share insights into their work, discuss the future of accessible mobility, and connect with the local community that has shaped every step of their innovation. With expertise spanning engineering, robotics, business development, and consultancy, they have developed a mobility solution that is safe, stylish, and empowering.

“Since 2023, I’ve been on this journey with Supersmith. Seeing something from a design, to a real thing, is exciting. It’s a nice feeling, to know that you’re safe. You’re not going to fall on the floor and hurt yourself. My favourite thing about the scooter is the stability of it, and how it will adjust itself. The reversing will be good because people come from all directions. People usually don’t see me at this level (referring to traditional mobility scooter)” – Linzi Mitchell, Supersmith Community Member

Supersmith are based at the BRL Hardware Incubator, on the UWE Campus and have been supported by Scale up For Growth, Future Space and the Business Innovation Fund, West of England Combined Authority.

Alongside the Cabot Circus event, Supersmith is excited to announce the limited release of the very first 3Scooter to local customers. This select group will get automatic entry to their Founders’ Club with benefits such as free servicing and parts for 2 years. Join the waiting list, and find out more, here.
