Acuity Law has strengthened its corporate and M&A capabilities with the strategic appointment of Ed Chapman as a Corporate Partner in its Bristol office.
Ed’s arrival marks a significant step in the firm’s continued growth and investment in the South West. With offices spanning the M4 corridor from London to Swansea, Acuity’s corporate team now includes over 20 lawyers.
With more than a decade of experience in corporate law, Ed advises on a broad range of transactions including fundraisings, mergers, acquisitions and disposals. He has a particular focus on supporting owner-managed and private equity–backed businesses pursuing growth through investment and buy-and-build strategies, and on delivering successful exits.
Ed’s appointment enhances Acuity Law’s ability to deliver high-quality, commercially focused legal advice to ambitious entrepreneurs and businesses across the UK. His deep regional knowledge and strong deal-making track record will be especially valuable to clients in the South West.
Known for his pragmatic, hands-on approach, Ed aligns seamlessly with Acuity’s partner-led service model and focus on achieving real commercial outcomes. His longstanding connection to Bristol and the South West, from university days to his established reputation in the regional corporate finance community, positions him to support the region’s thriving sectors including technology, life sciences and professional services.
“I am excited to join a fully resourced team that can handle complex deals. Acuity Law’s reputation for excellence, entrepreneurial spirit and a client-first approach made it an obvious choice for me,” said Ed.
Ed also brings a keen interest in leveraging technology to enhance client service and streamline transactional work. This aligns with Acuity Law’s investment in innovative tools, both for delivering legal services more effectively and for giving clients access to digital solutions through Acuity’s award-winning client platform, My Digital Lawyer.
Senior Corporate Partner & Chairman Steve Berry welcomed Ed to Acuity Law, commenting: “We are delighted that Ed has joined the Acuity Law corporate team.
